Full Cost Breakdown per m² — What to Include in Your Quote
1. Decking Boards (Supply)
Calculate total m² of deck area, then add 10% for cuts and wastage. For picture frame borders, calculate perimeter lineal metres separately. Call 1800 084 700 with your deck dimensions and we'll calculate board quantities for you.
2. Subframe Timber — H3 Treated Pine
THQ stocks H3 treated pine in the following sizes:
- 90x45 — 3.6m and 5.4m lengths (joists)
- 140x45 — 3.6m and 5.4m lengths (bearers)
- 70x45 — 3.6m lengths (blocking)
Joist spacing for composite decking: typically 400mm centres (check product spec — some boards allow 450mm or 500mm). Tighter spacing required for diagonal or picture frame installs.
Indicative subframe cost: $15–$35 per m² for H3 pine joists and bearers, depending on deck height and complexity.
3. Deck Clips & Fasteners
THQ stocks a full range of clips and fasteners:

Liquid Nails is used for fascia board adhesion and some fixing applications. THQ stocks 310ml cartridges. Allow 1 cartridge per 5–10 lineal metres of fascia.
